"He's not my boyfriend, mom"

Aubrey went to the movie yesterday with the boy who is not her boyfriend.  This boy, Justin, and Aubrey were "dating", if you can call it that, in school last year.  This was the first time they have done anything out of school together.  I was teasing her that he must still like her, that he never stopped being her "boyfriend."  Afterall, they talk all the time on the phone, on the computer, etc.  When Aubrey got home from the movie she was all excited.  She said "Look what Justin brought me from Paris!"  Aubrey loves Paris and she wants to go there some day.  Justin went there this summer with his family and he brought her back a really pretty little statue of the Eiffel Tower.  How sweet is that?  The friend who is not a boyfriend brought her a present.  I think it's sweet.

When I was Aubrey's age I was butt ugly.  I had really long hair that my mother refused to let me cut, I had horrible acne, I was awkward.  The only thing I had going for me was that I could sing and we were in a private Catholic school, so my humiliation was limited to a very small population of bullies.  My voice carried me through Jr. High and High School.  Unlike Aubrey, I never had boys interested in me until I was 16.  I had my first kiss on my 16th birthday.  Eric Bolstad it turns out, has the same birthday as me and our mothers were in the labor room of the hospital together.  And I have a younger brother named Eric.  It was destiny to my 16 year old mind.  Thank God I didn't let Eric get under my skin too much.  I didn't like him THAT much and after refusing to "put out" he got one of my best friends in school pregnant.  They now live in a trailer park raising homing pidgeons and Edie (his wife) has nine children.  Yow... I can barely handle the two I have.  LOL

Aubrey's birthday is in a few weeks and she wants a pool party here at the house.  She wants to invite two boys.  Max (Justin's best friend) and Justin.  I'm not sure they will come, but I think it's okay if we invite them.

Juju slept like a rock last night.  I gave her the children's benedryl at 8:30 and she slept until 9:30 this morning.  I'm hoping that this was enough to bump her schedule back into whack.  Of course I couldn't sleep and was up until 2:00 am.  I don't think I fell asleep until about 4:00 am.  Maybe I need to take some benedryl.  :)

I think perhaps you need the whiskey then dear, hehe. Smashxxx

Kids grow up so fast now! How old is Aubs again? 12? *sigh* Well, we decided that Riley (almost 15) isn't dating until she's married. ;)

Dot, who is 11, is crazy for boys. Sadly she has a crush on the guy that was the best man at my wedding. He's older than I am!!!
lol to Terri's comment. Hubby told Dot she's not allowed to date until she's 60, and even then they'd have to discuss it. lol
